The brief
Green Bay Life Church is re-envisioning its identity. The previous mark drew on the pōhutukawa flower filament — individuals coming together as one body in Christ. The new vision shifts the emphasis: “A place to call home, where Jesus Christ is Lord.”
The brief was to refresh the church’s whole visual identity to carry that shift — warmth, unity, a welcoming spirit, anchored in the Christian foundation.
The mark
The new logo folds four ideas into a single shape:
- A redesigned pōhutukawa flower — more modern, more subtle.
- A door opening into the bloom — open hearts, to Jesus and to the community GBLC serves.
- A house silhouette behind it — GBLC as spiritual home, people welcomed and treated like family.
- A cross formed in the negative space — the Apostle’s Creed at the centre, where it belongs.
A warm-toned colour palette carries the welcome through the rest of the system. The supporting pattern is built from pōhutukawa leaves, so the mark’s roots run through the wider identity.
Outcome
Volunteer work for my home church — accepted by leadership, and presented to the whole congregation. The refreshed identity is now in use across the church’s communications.
